Color Study Collection 9 originates from a larger body of work by ceramic artist Landis Carey, created in response to a color vision she experienced in the fall of 2023, in which she felt a sense of expanding, calm hope. Deep aquas fluctuated in saturation and translucency, ebbing into calming blues and expansive greens. The two surfaces of Collection 9 explore the lightest colors experienced in meditation. The serene blue pairings are grounded in cool and warm neutrals.
