Artist Bio
Landis Carey is a ceramic artist and resident at Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach, Florida, USA. She’s been working in clay for twenty-five years. Originally from Central Florida, she spent two decades in the Northeast, holding studios in Brooklyn and New Jersey before relocating to South Florida in 2023 with her husband and three children. Her practice is rooted in wheel-throwing and hand-building, using clay as a medium for observation, process, and meaning-making.
Carey's work has been acquired and commissioned at an institutional scale, with large-format pieces installed in newly-built healthcare facilities in Boca Raton and Jacksonville, Florida. In 2024, the City of Delray Beach purchased her work as a diplomatic gift for Masafumi Kinosaki, the Mayor of its Sister City, Miyazu, Japan. Her ceramics are also featured in a number of retail locations, including TWP, a leader in contemporary tailored clothing.
In 2026, Carey’s work was exhibited at Ceramic Arts London, where she was the fair's only female American representative.
