Color Study Collection 7 originates from a larger body of work by ceramic artist Landis Carey, created in response to a color vision she experienced, in which she felt a sense of expanding calm hope. Deep aquas fluctuated in saturation and translucency, ebbing into calming blues and expansive greens. Color Study Collection 7 comprises three ceramic wall surfaces featuring similar floating landscapes that emerged during glaze firing. The calm color palette of this trio aims to transport viewers to the breathtaking natural landscapes they’ve visited and the emotions they experienced, searing their visual memories.
